Sound by Sculpture

Sound by Sculpture is an installation containing 10 little machines that take you on a trip through a world of mechanics. The machines consist of a wooden pedestal that also acts as a resonator and a mechanism that is powered by a 220-volt-motor. Sound by Sculpture can be used to create a composition via mechanical sounds. The sounds of the machines are used as samples, created and operated live through a switchboard and an audio mixer. The aural world that is created by these sounds transcends the visible machinery and rises high above it, reminiscent of a monolithic factory.
